Padabhyanga is generally done with ayurvedic herbal oil or ghee. As an exception the massage can also be done with “kaash” bowls. These are small metal bowls which are used to massage the soles of the feet. This form of traditional Indian foot massage, which can be applied to enhance padabhyanga, is said to have a very positive effect on the eyes.
